  • sumur by eka kurniawan. this was the first printed short story i've read in a long time (i haven't touched them since my good old days of majalah bobo). sumur, though, was a pleasant one-sit journey. it mainly talks about tragedy, but the book doesn't really delve into the characters' sentiments—it treats each scene, event after event and incident after incident, merely as a property of chronology.
  • hujan bulan juni: sebuah novel by sapardi djoko damono. i had heard a ton of good things about the book and its two main characters (slash lovebirds), sarwono and pingkan. i'm so glad i started reading this right after i finished my trip to the east of java, for my memories of the mainly-talked city was still really, really vivid. i could imagine the streets of solo and the nostalgic ambience of them while pingkan's mother talked so highly of the city, debating to herself whet..._jowo._ and also, sar. he's the perfect represen...

things they do or say that tugged my heartstrings. what is love if not a pile of reasons? consider this my list of causes. (mainly revolves around svt, ateez, and txt):

  • when a fan asked on weverse, "are you tired? you can lean on me," and wonwoo answered, "i'm not tired, but i will lean on you." fucks me up every time. he's never tired of being kind. is he not a worldwide superstar? am i not a mere fan, an unknown person? does he honestly think that i could provide solace, despite despite despite? yes, he said. yes, yes.
  • jeonghan being asked in his cancam interview, "how do you listen to your member's concerns? what do you say to them?" and replying with, "take your time in telling me. i'll listen to you slowly. i'll make it comfortable for you to tell me." (translation by caratfangirl on twitter). do i need to say more? :( he's such a good hyung. he jokes and teases and flirts so well while still paying attention to his members' littlest details, making sure they're heard and loved.
  • ateez treasure film confessions. oh, this is going to be long:
