"We'll live in birds and flowers and dragonflies and pine trees and in clouds and in those little specks of light you see floating in sunbeams... And when they use our atoms to make new lives, they won't just be able to take one, they'll have to take two, one of you and one of me, we'll be joined so tight." - Philip Pullman "When we hold each other, in the darkness, it doesn't make the darkness go away. The bad things are still out there. The nightmares still walking. When we hold each other we feel not safe, but better. "It's all right" we whisper, "I'm here, I love you." and we lie: "I'll never leave you." For just a moment or two the darkness doesn't seem so bad." — Neil Gaiman "Everybody has a secret world inside of them. All of the people of the world, I mean everybody. Stop dwelling on the negative. There are always good things going on in my life, no matter how bad I feel. Those are the kinds of things I want to focus on, even if they're small or insignificant. Finish each school quarter knowing I've done my best. I don't care about the grade I get, as long as I come away knowing that I couldn't have done anything more and that I learned all that I could. Work on being happy. Not everyday or all the time, but I want to try and not sit and stew in negative feelings. If this means talking to a therapist, medication, or writing pages and pages in a journal, so be it. Try to have more patience with my family. They're infuriating, yes, but there is a reason why I go to school hundreds of miles away from them. The least I can do is be pleasant when I talk to them. dec 31 2008 ∞dec 31 2008 +

Walks in the morning when it is still quiet and cool outside, but not so chilly that you are frozen. The way milk feels going down when it is fresh and cold and you haven't had anything to drink in a while. Birthday cake. Good hair days. Freshly washed ripe raspberries. The scent of your favorite laundry detergent. Having a whole day to yourself- no responsibilities, no worries, no cares. Just you in your pjs snuggled under the covers with a good book and your cat. Spontaneous hugs that make you feel instantly good and loved. Eye contact and a genuine smile. Freshly baked bread that you made yourself. Dancing in your socks on the kitchen tile... nov 21 2008 ∞dec 5 2008 +
