  • stop negotiating with yourself : if you wait until you "feel like it", you'll never do it. set the task and get it done, no debate.
  • start with the hardest task : knock out the toughest thing first. the rest of the day will feel way easier.
  • use the 5-minute rule : tell yourself you'll just do 5 minutes. most of the time, you'll keep going once you start.
  • cut out distractions : put your phone on do not disturb, mute notifications, and set a timer to focus.
  • make a to-do list (but keep it short) : don't overwhelm yourself. list 3 priority tasks for the day and tackle them first.
  • set deadlines (even for small tasks) : if there's no deadline, it'll never feel urgent. give yourself a time limit to finish.
  • create a reward system : treat yourself after finishing a task. a little motivation goes a long way.
  • break it down : big tasks feel overwhelming. chop them into smaller steps so it's easier to start.
